Everest Base Camp Trek – Oct 2011

Our first trek and it was among the most beautiful treks available among the India, Nepal, Bhutan and neighboring countries.

Before plunging into the most exciting adventure that lasts 17 days, you have to get to Lukla from Kathmandu. It will take you only 35 minutes to reach the destination. During the flight, you will be able to admire the spectacular Himalayan scenery, including majestic mountains and local monasteries. Once all members of a trekking group are in Lukla, they will set off to Namche Bazaar (a famous village that is also known as the capital of Sherpa) on foot. The next destination will be the Dudh Koshi River and Tengboche. This part of the Nepal Everest Base Camp trekking trip is synonymous with breathtaking views of Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse-Nuptse. Also, the area is famous for being a natural habitat for such animal and bird species as the red panda, snow leopard, musk deer, bharal, black bear, monal, danfe, and kalij pheasant.

Thus, it will take you 7 days to get to the Everest Base Camp. At the end of the trip, you will have 2 days of spare time in Kathmandu, meaning that you will be able to visit Thamel, get familiar with the local history, or do some shopping.

It is worth mentioning that Mt Everest Base Camp trek tour doesn’t require sophisticated climbing techniques and considerable experience. In fact, it is a long-distance walk that can be taken by any persistent and physically fit person. With our help along the trail, be sure you will successfully reach the camp. You should be ready to take a long walk throughout the Khumbu region. The expedition to the Base Camp means you have to get to the destination from Lukla on foot. Otherwise, you can use helicopter services if you wish.

Everest Base Camp trek is fraught with some difficulties you should be prepared for. After the arrival in Lukla, you will face the challenge of crossing the distance of 65 km (that is 130 km when traveling back). Plus, this area is famous for its uneven terrain and zigzag trails. You will have to cross no less than 5 km a day to stick to the trip schedule.

While getting from Lukla (2,860m) to the camp (5,364m), trekkers are subjected to effects of high altitude. To reach the destination successfully, you will have to move at an unhurried pace according to the acclimatization instructions and other rules set by our team.

There is another potential difficulty you may face during the Mount Everest Base Camp trek trip. You should realize that the region will not provide you with delicious food and first-class facilities. However, the expedition will enable you to enjoy Nepalese hospitality and natural beauty to the fullest.
